I kept thinking, okay, maybe it’ll show up today… and then nope, still nothing. I waited way longer than expected, and there weren’t really any helpful updates along the way. it got frustrating after a while.
"Gift message looked rushed"
I ordered from Short Story and was let down by how the card message turned out.
The text looked cramped and uneven, like it had been rushed and nobody really checked it before it went out. I think a lot of customers would agree that when you’re sending something as a gift, the message card matters more than people realize.
It just made the whole gift feel less thoughtful than I wanted it to. If the card is going to look that careless, I’d be hesitant to order again.

"Wish I hadn’t trusted them"
I messaged them about my order and didn’t hear anything back for days. I tried following up again, and still got no real answer. it made me feel stupid for trusting them in the first place. All I wanted was a simple update, but even that seemed like too much to ask. I wouldn’t order from them again if this is how their customer service works.

I ordered this last week because it looked really nice in the photos, and I was excited when it finally arrived a few days later. But as soon as I took it out of the packaging, it just felt cheaper than I expected. After looking it over for a bit, I realized it wasn’t really the quality I thought I was getting. Disappointing overall.

"Just felt same, same to me"
Not much about it felt original. It was kind of the same stuff, same ideas I’ve seen in a bunch of other places, so it didn’t really stand out to me.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I felt like this was overpriced for what you actually get. It looked really nice online, so I was expecting it to feel a bit more premium when it arrived. Once I had it in person, though, it just didn’t seem like the value matched the cost. Maybe my expectations were too high, but for the price, I was disappointed. I probably wouldn’t buy it again unless it was marked down a lot.

I paid extra to have it gift wrapped, and it looked rushed. Maybe I’m being a little picky because it was meant to be a present, but the paper was creased, tape was showing all over, and the ribbon was loose. I didn’t really have time to rewrap it myself, so it was disappointing.

I don’t know, the prices just felt a bit too high to me. Maybe it depends on what you’re buying, but i left feeling like it wasn’t really worth the cost.

"Personalisation felt limited"
I was a bit let down by the personalisation side of it. You can tweak a couple of basic things, but not enough to make it feel really unique… it still kind of looks like something everyone else would end up getting.
For the price, I expected more options, like being able to adjust the text properly, choose colours, or at least see a better preview before ordering. It just felt a little rushed and limited, and I don’t think I’d order it again…

"Shipping was disappointing"
I ordered from shortstory.com.au the shipping was a bit of a let down. It took way longer than I expected to arrive, and the tracking barely updated the whole time, which was frustrating. I ended up having to follow it up myself — not exactly what you want after placing an order. The whole thing just felt like more effort than it should’ve been, so I’m not really in a rush to order again

"Packaging could’ve been much better"
My order showed up with barely any protective packaging, and the item was moving around loose inside the box. It looked like it had been tossed around a bit during delivery. For what I paid, I expected it to be packed with a lot more care. It left me feeling disappointed, and I don’t think I’d feel comfortable ordering anything fragile from here again.

"Kept getting unclear updates over and over"
The communication was frustrating. I kept having to check in to see what was going on, and even when I got replies, they didn’t really answer what I was asking. It just felt confusing the whole time. I kept wanting a straight answer, and I kept not getting one. All I really needed was clear info and simple updates, but for some reason that was hard to get.

"Shipping cost was way too much"
I was about to place an order from Short Story, but once I got to checkout, the shipping cost was a lot higher than I expected. It made the whole order feel not really worth it for me.
The items might be perfectly fine, but the delivery price put me off quickly. I ended up leaving my cart and I probably will not bother ordering unless the shipping becomes more reasonable.

The box showed up all squashed, and the wrapping looked really rushed, like rushed rushed. It felt like nobody took much care with it. I was planning to give it as a gift, so yeah, it was embarrassing tbh.

I was ready to place my order, but then the payment options kind of threw me off. Everything else seemed fine, so I thought it would be an easy checkout, but there was no PayPal and not many alternatives. It gave me mixed signals like the site was set up well but then made paying harder than it needed to be. I got frustrated and just gave up.

"Helpful in the end, but the communication was frustrating"
They did sort out my issue eventually, so I’ll give them credit for that. But the whole process took way longer than it should have, and the communication wasn’t very clear. I had to follow up twice just to figure out what was going on, which got annoying.

"Not the best fit for me, though it may work for others"
I didn’t have a great experience with it overall. It felt more frustrating to use than I expected, and by the end I was disappointed. To be fair, it might just not be the right fit for what I needed, and I’m sure some people may have a better time with it. But personally, I wouldn’t try it again.

"Frustrating on my phone"
I tried using shortstory.com.au on my phone, it was frustrating. Really frustrating. The pages felt slow to load, and I kept getting turned around just trying to find simple things.
The menu wasn’t very clear, and a few links seemed to loop me back around, which got annoying fast. Annoying fast. I ended up giving up after a while because it just wasn’t a smooth experience for me.
